Welcome To The FÔLD

Welcome To The FÔLD

We went into the homes and studios of five members of the FÔLD community: Daniel the advocate, Tasha the therapist, Nathalie the designer, Matt the co-founder and Tori the studio owner, each taking a few minutes back for themselves, wherever they can fit it in when real life doesn’t always give you the chance.

Introducing Daniel, Tasha, Nathalie, Matt & Tori. Five real members of the FÔLD Community, running businesses, households, studios whilst still trying to make time for themselves. No waitlists, timetables or commutes. One pause, one decision and the ability to fit movement into their schedule.

Daniel Adaja

I found Pilates after going through a period of injuries in my football career, and used it to rebuild myself to get playing again.

This discovery inspired me to start a movement to get more guys into Pilates, since I saw there weren’t many who felt like it was for them or understood the benefits of it, so I wanted to actively spread the message that Pilates is for everyone.

This also led me to become a certified instructor myself so that I could lead from the front line, and with this movement growing every single day it’s safe to say we’re just getting started!

From working in health and fitness to opening and running my own Reformer Pilates studio, taking that leap was one of the biggest and best decisions I’ve made. Since then, I’ve been wearing all the hats, running the business behind the scenes whilst also teaching in the studio. And honestly, it hasn’t been easy.

One thing I’ve learned along the way is how important it is to make time for you, too. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, but taking time to move, switch off and do something for yourself is so important. Now, I’m taking another exciting leap and expanding Palm St Pilates into studio number two.

Matt Harras

I have spent my whole career in health and fitness. I have also learned how quickly exercise slips down the list when you have work, kids, a partner and a dog pulling at your day.

The wellness space has become over-optimized. There is already enough guilt in not doing enough.

We built FÔLD to change that. Movement should be something you enjoy, fitted in wherever it works for you, so you never have to choose between work, family and staying active. Some days all three are not possible, and that is fine.

I am not telling anyone how to train. I am a dad and a founder in the same juggle, building what I needed myself. Welcome to the FÔLD.

Tasha Bailey

I’ve always been a geek for women’s wellness and mental health. I’m a psychotherapist turned content creator and the author of Real Talk, who loves all things mental health, self-love, confidence and modern womanhood in a way that feels honest, relatable and real.

I fell in love with reformer when it was time to be better with my own mental health. But when I noticed how few bodies like mine were represented in the Pilates space, I decided it was time to become an instructor myself. I want more bodies like mine to know they belong in Pilates. So I started training with APPI, and my FÔLD allows me to practise on my own terms, in my own home.

Now I’m working towards my reformer certification too, because I want more women to feel at home in their bodies, in therapy and on the reformer, no matter their shape, size or shade.
